Sale Barn Heading

Custom Sale Barn

We own and operate a custom cattle sale barn on our farm.  It was built in 2003 to primarily accommodate the Black Harvest Angus Bull sale.  We feed and manage about 100 Black Harvest Bulls annually in our feed yard from October to April when we host the annual spring sale.  Since 2003 we have grown to host a number of other sales annually.   We can offer a competitive sale experience for you and your cattle.

Sale barn seating

Our facilities are clean and well maintained with an office in the barn and warm, clean washrooms.   Bleacher style seating for approximately 150 people is available and we have been known to squeeze in close to 300 people (some standing of course!).

Auctioneers that have worked in our barn are Brent Carey, Ward Cutler, Steve Dorran , Chris Poley and Dale Stith.  They have all provided us with compliments on the barn and overall facilities.

If you wish to serve lunch you may use our local caterers from town (who have a wonderful reputation for their cuisine!).  Some cattlemen provide their own and we can certainly assist where ever needed.   We also have a ‘watering hole’ available.

Sales can currently be handled between March through late November, (our sale barn is not fully insulated as of yet – we are working on it!) with propane heaters available to keep it comfortable for the buyers.

Hydraulic Stampede chute with scale

We boast a Stampede Steel fully automatic working chute with an electronic scale, in the back half of the barn out of the elements, and a stampede crowding tub just outside the door.  Our penning consists of solid 30 foot portable paneling with access gates that can be assembled to your specifications.  Adequate holding pens with water accessible for the cattle are also available.

We are located 5 kms south of Kisbey on the #605 grid and 4 kms west with pavement right to our lane way so road conditions are never an issue.  An excellent marker is the big yellow BLACK HARVEST BULLS sign on hiway #13 at Kisbey.  On sale day we also mark the west turn road for ease of direction.

Accommodations are as close as Arcola to the west, a mere 20 kms, Carlyle a little further at 40 kms or to the east Stoughton at 24 kms.  We are 80 kms from Weyburn and Estevan with the Manitoba and USA borders both approximately 100 kms.
